Torbay Bay of Lights

The English Riviera comes alive this winter with festive lights and events across Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham.

Highlights include lantern parades, carols by candlelight, and the Illumination Trail along Torquay seafront (29 Nov 2024 – 2 Jan 2025), a 1.5-mile accessible route featuring 18 light installations, including a giant walk-through present and digital displays. Paignton and Brixham also boast 8-meter pixel Christmas trees with light shows.

Christmas Market at Torre Abbey

New for 2024, Torre Abbey hosts a festive market in its historic grounds, perfect for shopping and enjoying local food. Family activities and atmospheric bars complete the experience, making it an ideal start or end to the Illumination Trail.

Torre Abbey transforms this December with a projection event celebrating 800 years of history. Designed by renowned artists, it features visuals of Christmas through the ages, mapped onto the abbey’s architecture, accompanied by period music.

Train of Lights

A free community event featuring a lantern parade, fireworks, live music, and a street market. The picturesque fishing town shines with festive cheer, making it a must-visit.

Santa in the Caves at Kents Cavern
