Brixham Battery Heritage Centre
Brixham
Brixham Battery is one of only seven remaining original 116 Emergency Batteries built in 1940.
Set across a 14 acre site with outstanding panoramic views of Torbay, Battery Gardens is home to the now abandoned bunkers of the Battery, which was first used in 1586 during the war between England and Spain.
Around Battery Gardens can be seen the various emplacements, and the training room has been turned into a small but interesting museum.
Many of the exhibits have been loaned to the museum by local people, which adds to the quaint charm.
Free on street parking is available nearby and there is limited disabled parking for visiting groups by prior arrangement only.
Opening Times
Battery Museum is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between March and October - between 2pm and 4pm.
Please check openings with the attraction before travelling.
