Dartmoor Visitor Centre - Princetown
Princetown
The National Park Visitor Centre - Princetown is an ideal place to start your visit to Dartmoor.
Newly refurbished the Centre has exciting exhibitions, displays and a children's discovery zone. Throughout the winter they have the Wonders of the south west's woodland photographic exhibition.
Staff at the Centre are knowledgeable, local people who will be pleased to help you with advice and ideas on where to go and what to see during your visit. They also stock an extensive range of useful items for the outdoor enthusiast such as maps, publications about Dartmoor and guide books, in addition to gifts, cards, clothing and stationery.
They are situated in Princetown at the heart of Dartmoor and the Centre is easily accessible by road from Exeter or Plymouth and by public transport throughout the year. Princetown has several pubs and restaurants, good car parking facilities and public toilets with access for the disabled.
Princetown provides an excellent gateway to both the south and north moors for hill walkers and our Centre staff will be pleased to help you plan a suitable route.
