The Box

Plymouth

Where art, history, ideas and experiences come to life.

The Box is a social space for people, art, ideas and experiences. They preserve the city’s cultural collections and share extraordinary stories to explore the pressing issues of our age.

From their home in Plymouth, The Box nurture and support individuals to be creative and curious about the world around them, exploring the past in order to imagine new futures. The Box seeks to be a sustainable cultural organisation for the 21st century.

The Box has two different buildings for you to explore – the  main building where you’ll find collections galleries, exhibitions, Cottonian Research Room, shop and The Box Kitchen & Bar, and the beautifully restored St Luke’s church where there are also display exhibitions throughout the year.

It's free to visit with no need to book in advance.

The main entrance and exit on Tavistock Place has step free access. There is an additional entrance and exit on North Hill which has steps.

Entry to and exit from St Luke’s is also on Tavistock Place, opposite the main building.
