2026 PRIDE MARCH: 11am
Plymouth Pride 2026
Saturday 11 July 2026, Plymouth Hoe
Here’s a summary of the 2025 Plymouth Pride cancellation and what’s hoped for in 2026:
2026 MAIN EVENT: 12-6pm Plymouth Hoe
2025 Plymouth Pride – Cancelled
Plymouth Pride, which had been scheduled for 12 July 2025, was officially cancelled due to a combination of insufficient funding and a lack of volunteer support. Organisers, a small voluntary team, said they simply didn’t have the financial resources or the people power needed to run a safe and successful event this year. Sponsorship and income fell significantly short of the costs involved — leaving no viable way to stage the festival. (Scene Magazine)
Community Response
Despite the official event being cancelled, members of Plymouth’s LGBTQ+ community organised smaller, grassroots activities and pop-up events during Pride season that brought people together across the city. These were celebrated as a community-led response and helped create a sense of celebration and solidarity in the absence of the large festival. (plymouthcommunityhomes.co.uk)
Hopes for 2026
Local supporters and organisers have expressed a strong hope that Pride will return in 2026, ideally with:
-
More funding and sponsorship from national and local partners.
-
A bigger volunteer base to share organisation duties.
-
Continued community momentum built from the grassroots events of 2025.
There’s widespread optimism that with greater support and preparation, Plymouth Pride can make a successful comeback in 2026 — offering a full celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, visibility and inclusivity once again.
